Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite submissions for the Special Issue of the journal VERTIMO STUDIJOS / STUDIES IN TRANSLATION on Translation at the Crossroads of Ideologies and Cultures.

VERTIMO STUDIJOS / STUDIES IN TRANSLATION, ISSN 2029-7033 | eISSN 2424-3590, is an annual academic international peer-reviewed journal publishing research on  a wide range of topics concerning translation and interpreting. The journal aims to provide a forum for scholarly discussion on the theory and practice of translation and interpreting, disseminate the latest findings in translation research to its readership, foster academic exchange, and address emerging questions and challenges in the field . The submitted articles are peer-reviewed and discussed by the members of the Editorial Board.

The Special Issue is focused on the topics covered by the preceding conference Translation at the Crossroads of Ideologies and Cultures (Vilnius University, 18–20 June 2026).

This special issue is dedicated to Professor Nijolė Maskaliūnienė, the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Vertimo studijos / Studies in Translation since its inception in 2008 and Chair of the Scientific Committee of the conference Translation at the Crossroads of Ideologies and Cultures, in recognition of her outstanding dedication to advancing Translation Studies.
